RUN #1

Racers will start on the firelane below the DV Aquatic Center for a 1.5 mile (Sprint) or 1 mile (Super Sprint) hilly run. It is literally a straight shot up a gradual hill on smooth pavement. Upon reaching the aid station and turnaround at the peak, athletes will return back the way they came towards transition.

TRANSITION #1

After the warmup run, athletes proceed to the transition area in the parking lot of the Dougherty Valley Swim Complex where they will take off their running gear and throw on a pair of goggles and a TYR swim cap. There will be volunteers present to help with the "capping" for those who need it.

SWIM

After returning to the Dougherty Valley Pool area, athletes will hop in for either a 1000 m (7.67 laps) or 500m (3.33 lap) open water style swim. This will be a "scout's honor" swim and skipping a lap will mean bad juju for the athlete at future races. We will expect you to be honest with the number of laps you swim since you will only be cheating yourself. Actually we will be checking your splits so don't cheat!

TRANSITION #2

After hopping out of the pool and doing a quick jog back out to transition, athletes will once again switch to their run gear and head back out to the Dougherty Valley trails.

RUN #2

The run proceeds in the same direction as the first run for either a 1.5 mile loop (Sprint) or 2 mile loop (Super Sprint). After the prescribed distance, athletes return to the Dougherty Valley Swim Complex to the finish chute where they will be welcomed home by family and friends!
