There are two ways to participate in the 2010 event. You can be one of the amazing people who put on the Blazeman Cycle for ALS events or join in on one in your area!. We realize the work that goes into putting on these events and appreciate all your efforts in jumping in! Either way we are very grateful that you have taken the first step in helping The Blazeman Foundation’s "War on ALS". If you decide to host an event, here's a general outline of how to get started:

Putting on a Cycle for ALS event:

1. Find a location:

Talk to your local gym, bike store, school, etc. You'll need a place with some visibility and foot traffic as well as room to set up your bikes. If you find a location willing to loan you stationary bikes or extra trainers, go for it! If not, you can round up as many trainers as you can and rotate throughout the day.

Alternative: If the weather is great (lucky you), you might event consider organizing a scenic group ride. Things to consider: Distance, traffic, size of group and even a back up plan if it rains. You might want to set up rest stops (with volunteers) where you can not only fuel up, but also promote the cause and collect donations from the public!

2. Contact Us:

Once you've found a place, let us know! We'll need some information from you including the location, your contact info, and a logo (of your facility/business). This way we can start helping you promote on the website. Also we want your mailing address so we can ship you some. You can reach us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

3. Start Promoting:

Word of Mouth: Don't under estimate this technique. You would be surprised how quickly word spreads by just telling your cycling friends, co workers, gym partners, triathlon club, etc. If you're excited about it, then your friends will be too!

Email: It is 2010 after all, but be careful how you send out emails. With all the spam going around, make sure you send out an email that is personal and has a eye catching title. Include event information, contact info, link to the website (and foundation website) and anything else you think of to get them to join in!

Flyers: Make your own or use one of ours. Get into your community and post or leave flyers at coffee shops, gyms, YOUR HOST LOCATION, community boards.... anywhere you can think of. This is also a great opportunity to make a connection with your local businesses and maybe even get some great sponsorship and support out of it.

4. Connect With Us:

Join the Blazeman and Cycle for ALS community. This is a great way to ask questions and get support. It's an even greater way to extend the reach of your community to other organizers and states. Find out how by clicking here

And if you have any problems please contact us, we want to help.
